YC Kim

Yoonchung (YC) Park Kim was born and raised in Korea and received BFA and MFA at Seoul National University. She received a Regent fellowship to study further at the University of California, Berkeley with American clay revolutionary Peter Voulkos. After her graduation, she decided to remain in the US to work and teach.

 

She was a professor of art at San Diego City College for 26 years and retired 2016, and currently works as a professor Emeritus. She is an internationally exhibiting ceramic artist with 17 one-person shows in Korea, Hongkong and in US. She also participated nearly 200 group exhibitions including Smithsonian Museum, Seoul Metropolitan Museum, Contemporary Crafts Museum in NY, Croaker Art Museum, Everson Art Museum. Her works are in the permanent collections of Pacific Asian Museum in Pasadena, Tennessee State Museum, Seoul Metropolitan Museum, Hoam Art Museum, and Seoul National University Museum in Seoul Korea
