Artist-in-Residence
Program details
Shatto Gallery is pleased to announce the launch of our Shatto Projects Residency Program, a creative initiative designed to foster artistic innovation and experimentation. Our Residency program is designed to nurture creativity by (1) providing the artist with a stipend to explore materials, concepts, and ideas, (2) fostering collaboration for future exhibition opportunities, and (3) encouraging artists to challenge the limits of their creativity.
This program will offer two selected artists the opportunity to engage in a dynamic artistic experience, right here at Shatto Gallery. Add a sentence elaborating on how the two artists will be expected to interact with each other. Residency participants will have full access to space, financial support, mentorship from renowned artists and curators, and the chance to showcase their work at the end of the residency program.
The Shatto Projects Residency Open Call | Spring 2024
The Shatto Projects Residency program will offer two-weeks residencies to selected artists July 1 - July 12, 2024. Resident artists will present a one-week exhibition to the public at the end of their residency. During the exhibition, it is desired to hold at least one event of complementary programming (i.e.: artists talk, workshop, screening, discussion, performance, etc.). Marketing and event support is also provided by the team.
This self-directed residency program seeks out emerging and mid-career artists with a desire to learn and exchange with others through their art making practice while making ground breaking, ambitious contemporary art work. Visual Artists of all media and discourse are welcome. This opportunity is open to Los Angeles based artists who are not currently enrolled in a degree-earning program.
